Old Bridge Preservation Society Museum Tour and Gift Shop

Old Bridge Preservation Society Since the 1950’s friends and families from all over the country have enjoyed the natural serenity of Sunset Beach by traversing the single lane swing bridge built originally by Mannon Gore, the island’s founding father and visionary pioneer. Every year, the rhythmic rumbling of the loose wooden planks as you crossed the bridge served to welcome you to a different place, one where rest, relaxation, and reflection could be found. Over the years of its service the Bridge became a symbol of the very essence of what Sunset Beach was and continues to be. Its image, in many forms, adorns countless T-shirts, ornaments, photos, drawings, and mugs, and offers in its own right pleasant reminders of good times on the island. Yes, you can always go back to Sunset Beach, even if it’s only in your mind.
