This year the Old Bridge Preservation Society has a blockbuster way to start the holiday – a two-event treat! Of course, there will be the traditional Fourth of July celebration at the Old Bridge on the day itself; after all, this event is a Sunset Beach tradition.
- Tuesday, July 3, Sunset Beach’s own Linda Ladrick, will be performing at 6:00 p.m. at the Old Bridge. Show up in your red, white, and blue clothing – we want to have a sea of patriotic glory. Don’t forget to bring a chair, then sit back and enjoy! Ms. Ladrick will be entertaining the crowd by singing patriotic standards, songs from Broadway, and a smattering of Disney songs for the young and young at heart in the crowd – really something for everyone. Well known in our area, Ms. Ladrick frequently performs locally at both private and public functions. Kathryn Parker will accompany Ms. Ladrick. This concert will be a great way to kickoff your holiday. Come and bring your guests.
- Wednesday, July 4, at Old Bridge, an official parade start time, 9 a.m., children (and adults) are encouraged to bring their decorated bicycles, wagons, strollers or sneakers to ride or march across the Old Bridge in step to rousing patriotic music. This parade is a perfect photo opportunity for grandparents and parents to capture the children in all of their red, white, and blue splendor.
- Immediately following the parade, adult supervised good old-fashioned, All-American games and activities.
- Light refreshments available.
